Jesus’ earthly ministry was prolific in word and deed. Matthew 4:23-24 says “Jesus went throughout Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, proclaiming the good news of the kingdom, and healing every disease and sickness among the people. News about him spread all over Syria, and people brought to him all who were ill with various diseases, those suffering severe pain, the demon-possessed, those having seizures, and the paralyzed; and he healed them.” In this Groundwork series, we’ll examine the four aspects of Jesus’ ministry listed in Matthew 4:23-24—teaching, preaching, casting out demons, and healing. Together we’ll study examples of Jesus’ ministry from all four Gospels to better understand his purpose and we’ll discuss what his ministry means for our own faith and ministry today.
