The Jesus Who Loves & Hates
June 15, 2012 • Matthew 23
We try not to use the word “hate” in our everyday language. We teach our children not to use such a word because it’s not a nice word. We don’t like to admit that from time to time we hate. We readily associate the life and teachings of Jesus with “love” and we strive to emulate that Jesus. We can picture Jesus loving children, sinners, and wayward people. But today on Groundwork, we’re talking about the Jesus who loves and hates. If we only think about Jesus as loving, then we really don’t know Jesus. Hate is the other side of dealing with the Jesus we never knew.
