The Gift of Mercy

God commands us to be merciful, just as he is merciful to us. In this sense, mercy is intertwined with forgiveness. Scripture makes clear that God expects all believers to show mercy and that our practice of mercy demonstrates that we understand the grace of God’s salvation. Yet, the Apostle Paul also lists mercy as a spiritual gift. Let’s explore scripture together to see how we can all practice the ordinary virtue of mercy, be reminded of why our attitude matters, and learn why mercy qualifies as a unique spiritual gift.
