Judges: God's Enduring Commitment

A Grim Reality and a Reason to Hope

April 5, 2019   •   Judges 3:20-23 Judges 21

The book of Judges contains some pretty gruesome stories—stories of rebellion, rape, assassination, and murder that might leave us questioning if they belong in the Bible. Though appalling, these stories depict what happens when we turn away from God and they display our desperate need for God and his salvation plan. Judges paints a bleak and selfish picture of humanity but also teaches important lessons about leadership and about a God who won’t give up on his people and whose plans give us a reason to hope.
